Official WhatsApp Integration
We've launched a new official WhatsApp integration and are fully discontinuing support for service-based integrations. In this update, we explain why we made this decision and what you need to do.
What is a service-based integration and why we're dropping it
A service-based integration is a WhatsApp connection through third-party services or unofficial methods (also known as "grey" WhatsApp). This also includes the legacy version of the WhatsApp Business API.
Problems with service-based integrations:

Pleep is built into your sales process — the most critical part of your business. We can't afford to let you lose customers because of an unreliable integration. That's why we made the decision: official integration only.
What we launched
An official WhatsApp integration via Meta Cloud API. We are the only service on the market offering this type of connection.
The key difference: you don't need to delete the WhatsApp app. Previously, this was a mandatory requirement for connecting to the API. Now the app stays on your phone and works in parallel with your AI agent.
What this means for you:
- No bans — this is an official channel from Meta
- Keep your app — continue messaging as usual
- Stable connection — the integration won't drop
- One number, two modes — for both personal messaging and automation
What to do if you already have WhatsApp connected
If you're using:
- Grey WhatsApp (connected via QR code)
- Legacy WhatsApp Business API
You need to switch to the official integration.
In the "Integrations" section, you'll see a warning with instructions. The switch takes just a few minutes.
We are discontinuing support for service-based integrations on February 1, 2026. After this date, old integrations will stop working.
How to connect the official integration
- Go to the "Integrations" section
- Select "WhatsApp" (official integration)
- Follow the on-screen instructions
